Ogden Concept to Company Finalists & Winners (09.26.08)

 

 

 

The final day of judging took place Friday September 26th, 2008.  Each of the 11 finalists (9 in-state and 2 out-of-state) presented their idea to the judging panel of industry experts.  Judges then asked the tough questions, got the information they needed and ranked the entries.  At the end of the presentations the judges met privately to discuss the winners. After an hour-long discussion, an agreement was finally made and the winners were chosen.  They and the finalists are listed below:

Grand Prize: Pressure Pak - 2nd Generation(by Toby Hazelbaker)

Pressure Pak is a new business which has developed a personal hydration pack using a patented air chamber to pressurize the water.  This allows the water to be sprayed and consumed without sucking which most people prefer when exercising.  www.neversuckagain.com

 

Runner Up: Rack Ladder, LLC(by Holly Halverson)

The Rack Ladder is a portable, collapsible ladder that quickly attaches to a vehicles roof rack.  It is made out of webbing and two small steps. It's an innovative design that  provides easy access to the vehicles roof top area without stepping on seats, tires, or climbing on top of your car. 

 

Runner Up: WickWerks Radically Ramped Chain Rings(by Chris Wickcliffe)

WickWerks has engineered a new Innovative design for bike chain rings.  The design prevents any chain slippage during shifting and eliminates this frustration for many bikers. www.wickwerks.com

Grand Prize: AdRax(by Gray Davis - Hermosa Beach, CA)

AdRax is a patented bike rack design with unique advertising space. It's a sturdy inverted U-shape design with a rubberized post that won't scratch bikes.  The AdRax revenue model allows cities to facilitate bicycle transportation without capital costs.

Avalanche Safety Helmet (by Scott Ogilvie)

Mountain helmet that extracts air from the snow to help a person breathe if trapped in an avalanche.

New tent design integrating LED lights into seams and replacing zipped entry with quick slide door.

 

Rockville Kiteboard by RASE Inc

A waterboard designed specifically for kiteboarding. The design is lighter and more buoyant than the traditional wakeboards used for kiteboarding.
