The Concept to Company outdoor recreation innovation contest, presented by the city of Ogden, Grow Utah Ventures, Zions Bank and USTAR is the state's premier event and the first competition in the nation focused on spurring innovation in the outdoor recreation industry. This competition capitalizes on Northern Utah's burgeoning outdoor recreation business environment and aims to attract new product ideas and new companies into the area. Got an idea or invention? Then get busy and enter the contest!

 

 

 

Who Can Apply? There are two contest tracks. One is for Utah-based entrepreneurs and small businesses and the other is for out-of-state entrepreneurs and small businesses. Generally, anyone in this category with a product or service innovation in the outdoor recreation industry can apply. (Other restrictions apply- for all rules please see the "Entry Form & Rules" section)

 

When Is It? Submit your idea anytime between now and August 30, 2008 (midnight).  The awards will be given out on stage on September 27, 2008 at the Mountain to Metro outdoor festival in downtown Ogden.

 

What Do I Win? The winning entry for both the in-state and out-of-state tracks will receive a $20,000 award each, comprised of cash and the equivalent value in consulting or prototype services to help bring the idea to fruition. Additionally, two in-state runner-up's will also receive $10,000 awards each, comprised of cash and services. There will be no runner-up awards for the out-of-state entries.
